Eric Rasmussen is joining WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston as the newest addition to the 'FOX 25 Investigates' team as an investigative reporter.

The move to FOX 25 will be somewhat of a reunion for Eric with his former management team. He was most recently an investigative reporter at KTVU-TV FOX 2 in San Francisco, a position that he left on October 6 after almost 5 years.

“Coming back to Boston has always been a dream of mine" Eric told New England One. "I can’t wait to join the talented team of journalists at FOX 25.” Eric and his wife, Erika, are excited to make the Boston area their home.

FOX 25 news director Lee Rosenthal, along with FOX 25 VP/GM Tom Raponi, joined FOX 25 from KTVU in October 2014 after Fox Television Stations swapped ownership of both FOX 25 and WHBQ-TV Memphis for Cox Media Group's KTVU.

Eric says some of his most rewarding stories while at KTVU included "uncovering questionable spending of public money by a former Port of Oakland official as well as exposing unsafe and unsanitary conditions at a large hotel, prompting changes to help long-term residents."

Prior to his time at KTVU, Eric was a reporter at Cox Media Group's WFTV-TV ABC 9 in Orlando, FL.

He's also been a reporter and anchor at KFSN-TV in Fresno, CA; WCIA-TV in Champaign, IL; and KHSL-TV in Chico, CA.

Eric has been recognized by multiple Murrow and Associated Press awards, among others, over the years. He's also been "threatened, had a dog “sicced” on me, and was even once called a "pea brain" by a city councilperson," which he says all prepared him to be an investigative reporter.

Although a native of California, Eric is no stranger to Boston. He is a 1999 graduate of Boston University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism.

Outside of news, and in what he says is a reminder that you cannot judge a book by its cover, you can often find Eric behind the turntables pursuing his passion as a DJ. "I fell in love with hip-hop music as a kid in the 80's and have collected hundreds of records since then" he says

Eric starts at FOX 25 on November 30.
