Telemundo Denver / KDEN has announced that Niurma Sánchez has been named Weather Anchor for Noticiero Telemundo Denver, which airs weekdays at 4 PM, 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM.

Telemundo Denver / KDEN has announced that Niurma Sánchez has been named Weather Anchor for Noticiero Telemundo Denver, which airs weekdays at 4 PM, 4:30 PM, 5 PM and 10 PM.

Sánchez will make her on-air debut today and will join News Anchors Pamela Padilla and Carlos Rausseo, Sports Anchor Erasmo Provenza and an enterprising news team to help deliver local breaking news and real-time weather information to Spanish-speaking viewers throughout Denver and Colorado.

“Niurma’s ability to deliver clear and concise meteorological information coupled with her passion to help inform viewers about severe weather threats, will help our Telemundo Denver Weather Authority team stand out from the rest,” said Andrés Chaparro, President and General Manager for Telemundo Denver. “I am excited for our viewers to meet Niurma and receive crucial weather information to help them plan their day.”

Sánchez joins Telemundo Denver from Telemundo 51 Miami / WSCV, where she worked as a freelance meteorologist since December 2016. Prior to this, Sánchez worked as a weather forecaster at the Cuban Institute of Meteorology (INSMET) from 2012 to 2014. Sánchez also worked as a freelance weather forecaster for local radio stations and served as a speaker during hurricane season at various local schools during this time period. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology from the Higher Institute of Technologies and Applied Sciences (InSTEC) in Havana, Cuba.
