WISN 12 is welcoming Chris Swaim as its new meteorologist during "WISN 12 News This Morning" on Saturdays and Sundays.

Swaim will anchor the weather segments from 5:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. weekend mornings.

Swaim will be the latest addition to the Weather Watch 12 team, including Chief Meteorologist Mark Baden, "WISN 12 News This Morning" weekday meteorologist Sally Severson, and WISN 12 weekend evening meteorologist Lindsey Slater.

Swaim will also produce additional weather reports and special news assignments during "WISN 12 News This Morning."

Southeast Wisconsin will be able to see Swaim on-air as a meteorologist starting April 29, 2017.

"Chris will be a perfect fit to join the most dynamic, most experienced weather team in Milwaukee," said WISN 12 news director Ben Hart. "His forecasting experience and severe weather expertise will be key to keeping WISN 12 viewers safe and informed."

Before his new role at WISN 12, Swaim served as Weekend Meteorologist and Reporter for the 40/29 News Team in Arkansas. He has also worked as the weekend meteorologist for KLAX, WRDE and WGFL in Alexandria, LA, Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Gainesville, FL, respectively.

In addition to forecasting and reporting, he is also an experienced storm chaser and a certified storm spotter.

Swaim is originally from central Indiana, and a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, IN. When Swaim is not providing important weather coverage, he enjoys working out in the pool, chasing storms and hiking.

"I'm excited to get back to the Midwest where I grew up. Milwaukee has so many opportunities and I'm looking forward to joining such an amazing and experienced team," said Swaim.
