Meteorologist Chris Jarzynka has stepped in at New England Cable News to cover some shifts while they look for a new evening meteorologist.

"For the first time since 2008, I'll be on the set at NECN" Chris said in a post on his Facebook page. "Given a related graphics project I'm doing with Matt Noyes and company, I'm looking forward to playing in the sandbox again!"

Chris is filling the void left when Joe Joyce left the station and Nelly Carreno moved to mid-days.

Chris currently works as a Consulting Meteorologist and Designer for VizRT, a broadcast graphics company. Prior to that he was an EDGE Meteorologist at weather technology company WSI Corporation.

Chris has also been a freelance fill-in meteorologist for Hearst Television for almost 10 years. He started at Hearst in 1997 as the morning meteorologist at WMUR-TV ABC 9 in Manchester, NH. He also spent a brief time in 2008 as a fill-in meteorologist at NECN.

A native of Salem, MA, Chris is a 1992 graduate of Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, VT where he studied meteorology and math.

Chris says that he will "be filling in over the next few weeks to help cover some shifts." He adds "It should be fun!"
