Ro Dooley Webster has been named Director of Programming and Communications for Boston market leading stations WCVB Channel 5 (Boston), WMUR-TV (Manchester), and their MeTV digital sub-channels effective April 7, 2015.  In this department head role, Dooley Webster will oversee all aspects of programming, media relations, and internal and external communications for WCVB, WMUR, and the two MeTV channels.

“With more than 25 years of leadership experience in local media, Ro’s expertise and relationships in the community are widely recognized and respected,” said WCVB President and General Manager Bill Fine when making the announcement.  “As part of our talented management team, Ro will be an asset to advancing the stations’ leadership positions.”

An Emmy award-winning media executive, Dooley Webster joins the Hearst stations from CBS Boston where she was Director of Communications and Public Affairs for all eleven of CBS Boston’s broadcast and digital properties including WBZ-TV and WSBK-TV.  Over the course of her decade of leadership at CBS Boston, Dooley Webster managed many of the television stations’ major, local event programs like: The Boston Pops 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, the First Night special, the BLINK Holiday Tree Lighting show, and political debates.

Before joining CBS in 2004, Dooley Webster served as Director of Public Relations for the Sunbeam-owned Boston NBC affiliate WHDH-TV, where she managed communications and many of the station's special events and live, local programs.  She has also worked as the Public Relations Director for the then Tribune-owned Boston WB affiliate WLVI-TV.  Before that, Dooley Webster was Director of Press and Public Relations at New England Cable News (NECN).  She was critical to the regional network's successful launch and instrumental in the launch of "The FOX 25 News at 10" which was then produced by NECN.  She began her career as a reporter/producer for news and specials at independent WCVX-TV.

Dooley Webster is President of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Boston/New England and is the first woman president of the chapter in 25 years.  She was nominated for a Rosoff "Mentor" Award presented by the Ad Club of Boston for advancing diversity in the workplace as part of her work with The Emma Bowen Foundation.  She is a member of the Executive Leadership Institute presented by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce as well as a member of Boston Women in Media & Entertainment.

Dooley Webster received her MA Degree in Marketing Communications from Emerson College graduating at the top of her class.  She graduated from Boston College double majoring to earn a BA Degree in Communications and Marketing.  She is a graduate of Milton Academy.
