Sam Read has joined WGME CBS 13/WPFO FOX 23 in Portland, Maine as a multimedia journalist.
Sam joined WGME in February, and currently reports for "Good Day Maine."
Prior to her starting at WGME she spent two years in Panama City Beach, Florida, where she reported for the NBC affiliate WJHG. During her first year of reporting she was awarded first place for "Best Hard News Feature" from the Florida Associate Press.
Before heading to Florida, Sam spent a year working behind the scenes at WHDH in Boston.
Originally, Sam hails from Westerly, Rhode Island. In 2013 she graduated from Springfield College in Massachusetts where she completed six internships at news stations all over New England. She was also awarded "best on-air" for her college television station.
