Scott McDonnell is joining WTNH-TV ABC 8 in New Haven (Hartford), CT as an anchor for News 8 at 6pm.

Scott joins WTNH from KMBC-TV ABC 9 in Kansas City, MO where he was most recently a news anchor and reporter.

Prior to joining KMBC in 2013, Scott was a reporter and anchor for Central Florida News and Bay News 9 in Orlando, FL. Before that, he was an evening anchor and reporter at WSEE-TV and hosted a radio show on WTWF-FM in Erie, PA. Before that, he was a reporter at WSHM-TV in Springfield, MA.

During his time in television, Scott has covered several national stories, including the shooting death of Trayvon Martin and the 2012 Presidential election from the crucial swing state of Florida.

Scott is quite familiar with Connecticut media, and has worked in various positions all over the state. He spent over two years as an associate producer at WFSB-TV, and spent almost a year as a traffice reporter for Metro Networks. He's also worked in radio at WTIC-FM in Hartford; WDAQ-FM in Danbury; and at WCTK-FM and Clear Channel Communications in Providence, RI.

Nicknamed "Scotty Too Hottie" by former co-workers in his radio days, Scott was a finalist in Cosmopolitan magazine's "50 Hottest Bachelor's" in 2007. He also won "Best Hair" for Missouri in this years list from GetGoodHead.com.

A native of Upton, MA, Scott is a 2000 graduate of the University of Rhode Island in Kingston where he earned a Bachelor's degree in communications.
