Chris Flanagan is joining Boston's WFXT FOX 25 as a weekend evening news anchor and weekday reporter, New England One has learned.

Chris Flanagan is joining Boston's WFXT FOX 25 as a weekend anchor and a reporter, New England One has learned. Chris will join co-anchor Kerry Kavanaugh on weekend evenings and replaces Blair Miller who was recently moved to the newly launched weekday 4pm newscast.

Chris joins FOX 25 from WEWS ABC 5 in Cleveland, Ohio where he has been a weekday anchor since October 2011. Among the big stories he's covered while at WEWS have been the 2012 Democratic National Convention, and more recently the Cleveland Caveliers NBA Championship victory.

Before WEWS, Chris was a morning news anchor at WFAA ABC 8 in Dallas, Texas. While there, he covered major events such as the Ft. Hood massacre, World Series, and Super Bowl.

Prior to working in Dallas, Chris was the main anchor at WOI ABC 5 in Des Moines, Iowa, where he helped the station earn its first “Best Newscast” award. There, he also hosted two Presidential debate specials and moderated the 2006 Democratic gubernatorial debate. Chris is also well-versed in the sports world, as his background includes sports anchor and reporter positions at KNTV in San Francisco, WRTV in Indianapolis, and WVIT in Hartford. He has covered several exciting events, ranging from the 2002 Winter Olympics to the Indianapolis 500, NFL playoffs, and NBA Finals.

Chris is no stranger to New England - he is a native of Stamford, Connecticut, and his wife is from Connecticut as well. He is a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University.

Chris joins FOX 25 on September 8.
