Eli Rosenberg is joining New England Cable News/NBC Boston as a reporter, New England One has learned.

Eli joins NECN/NBC Boston from KMBC ABC 9/KCWE CW 29, the Hearst Television duopoly in Kansas City, Missouri.

"Hey Friends! It's my last day at KMBC 9 News Kansas City" Eli posted on his Facebook page on July 6.

"A true honor to report in my hometown but time for a new adventure. ‎Boston‬, coming for ya! I'll be joining NECN/NBC News Boston in a few weeks" he said.

During his time at KMBC, Eli was one of the first Kansas City reporters to cover the protests in Furguson, Missouri as the unrest grew there. He was a key player in the stations coverage, and was also there the night the grand jury decision was released.

Prior to KMBC/KCWE, Eli worked as a reporter for WATN ABC 24 in Memphis, Tennessee.

He has also worked as a reporter for KWTX CBS 10, in Waco, Texas. While there, ere he was one of the first reporters on the scene of the November 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood. He also spent time as an adjunct faculty member teaching several journalism courses at Baylor University.

Eli started his professional career at KAUZ CBS/CW 6 in Wichita Falls, Texas where he was a reporter.

During his time as a reporter thus far, Eli’s stories uncovered injustices that led to the resignation of a number of public officials and influenced policy changes. He has won individual and one team Texas Associated Press Broadcasters award.

A native of Overland Park, Kansas, Eli is a 2004 graduate of Syracuse University where he earned a Master's degree in broadcast journalism. He is also a 2001 graduate of Northwestern University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in political science and government.
