Caroline Connolly has joined New England Cable News and NBC Boston as a reporter.

"I suppose now is a good time to announce I've joined the team at NECN" Caroline announced on her Facebook page. "It feels great to be back on the east coast and I can't wait to share stories from my home state" she said.

Caroline comes to NECN/NBC Boston from KXAS NBC 5 in Dallas, Texas where she had been a freelance reporter since January 2016. Her work took her all over the Lone Star State, covering everything from severe weather to politics.

Prior to that, Caroline spent three years at KSTU FOX 13 in Salt Lake City, Utah where she was a reporter and fill-in anchor. During her time there, she quickly became known for her investigative pieces and political reporting in the state. Caroline was the first to uncover the poisoning of a customer at a national restaurant chain, which prompted policy changes within the business.

Before that she spent two months as a news writer at WHDH NBC 7 in Boston after leaving WABI CBS 5 in Bangor, Maine where she had been a reporter and fill-in anchor for two years.

Caroline started her professional career as a CBS News Apprentice, a six month program she got accepted to right out of college.

A native of Newburyport, Massachusetts, Caroline is a 2009 graduate of Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in communication and media studies.

Caroline started at NECN as the beginning of June.
