Chris Gloninger has joined the weather team at New England Cable News and NBC Boston as a meteorologist. He will also report for the station.

"Some of you may have heard through the grapevine that I'll be leaving" Chris said in a post on his Facebook page. "I'll be moving east to Boston. It's near home for me. In June I'll be starting at NBC Boston/ NECN" he said.

"In the TV business, you constantly move around, but in this case Milwaukee will be my second home! My wife is from Muskego and all of you have welcomed me with opened arms - so thank you!"

Chris joins NECN/NBC Boston from WISN ABC 12 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was the weekend evening meteorologist and reporter. A Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM), Chris knows what it's like to be in the eye of the storm. Chris has worked the anchor desk and in the field covering Hurricanes Irene, Lee and Sandy and interviewing U.S. Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer and Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Chris previously worked as a meteorologist at WRGB in Albany, NY, where he was nominated for an EMMY for his weather special on "Irene - One Year Later." He was nominated for another EMMY for news coverage of the 2010 Michigan floods, while working at WNEM in the Saginaw/Flint, Michigan market. Prior to Michigan, Chris worked at WTEN in Albany, and began his career in meteorology at WHEC in Rochester, NY.

Chris graduated from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire with a degree in meteorology and has been awarded the CBM designation by the American Meteorological Society. He likes volunteering for anything weather-related, rolling up his sleeves during the clean-up process in the Schoharie Valley after Hurricane Irene and emceeing at an annual fundraiser for Haiti Earthquake relief. He also enjoys attending schools to talk with students about the weather.
