Jacqui Heinrich is joining Boston's WFXT-TV FOX 25 as a general assignment reporter, the station has announced.

Jacqui comes to FOX 25 from KTNV-TV ABC 13 in Las Vegas, NV where she was most recently the weekend morning anchor.

"Big news to share" Jacqui said on her Facebook page. "Christmas came early for me this year...excited to announce I'll be joining an incredible team at WFXT, the Fox affiliate in Boston, the first week in February."

"It will be bittersweet to leave my KTNV Channel 13 Action News family and all the friends I've made in my 2 1/2 years here" she said. "But I'm thrilled to be able to live and work in my hometown. This will be the last year I'll spend the holidays apart from my family."

Jacqui joined KTNV in September 2013 as a general assignment reporter, and was promoted to her current role in July 2015. During her time in Las Vegas, Jacqui has reported on the deadly flash floods along the Arizona/Utah state line, rancher Cliven Bundy's showdown with the federal government on BLM land, and the government shutdown at Lake Mead. She has also reported on some feature stories like the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight, Judge Judy, and Dancing With The Stars. She also earned an Emmy nomination for her investigation into Nevada's medical marijuana laws.

Prior to joining KTNV, Jacqui spent almost two years as a reporter and anchor at KOAA-TV NBC 5 in Colorado Springs, CO. While in Colorado Springs, Jacqui's investigative reporting won a Colorado Broadcaster’s Association Award for Investigative Journalism and her coverage of the Colorado wildfires were part of a series that won a station award from the Associated Press. Jacqui was also honored with an Emmy Award win and a nomination, as well as  two Colorado Broadcaster's Association awards for her work.

With her time in Colorado coinciding with the 2012 Presidential election, Jacqui had the opportunity to interview Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney and covered campaign stops from Vice Presidential Candidate Paul Ryan and First Lady Michelle Obama.

In addition to her professional experience, Jacqui has interned with both WRC-TV and MSNBC in Washington, D.C., and was an intern for United States Congressman John Culberson. She also spent time as a director of communications for an online blog.

A native of Boston, Jacqui is a 2011 graduate of The George Washington University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in international affairs, religion, and anthropology.

Jacqui starts at FOX 25 the first week of February.
