Chanteé Lans is joining WBZ-TV CBS 4/WSBK-TV My 38 as a freelance reporter, New England One has confirmed.

Chanteé joins WBZ from WPRI-TV CBS 12/WNAC-TV FOX 64 in Providence where she has been a general assignment reporter for the past three years.

During her time at WPRI, Chanteé has reported on stories such as the Boston Marathon Bombings, the manhunt, arrest and murder trial of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the arrest and murder trial of former New England Patriots Player Aaron Hernandez, the election of Pope Francis, the Blizzard of 2013, Boston Red Sox World Series Win, and Rhode Island’s legalization of same-sex marriage.

Prior to joining WPRI, Chanteé was a general assignment reporter at WFMY-TV CBS 2 in Greensboro, NC. Before that, she was a freelance reporter at at Cablevision's News 12 Long Island. She's also been a reporter and producer at WAPT-TV ABC 16 in Jackson, MS; and a national desk broadcast associate for CBS News in New York.

During her career, Chanteé has won several awards including a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award in 2014, and the Radio Television Digital News Association's Michele Clark Fellowship in 2013. She's also been nominated for two New England Emmy Awards.

In 2013, Chanteé co-founded the Southern New England Association of Black Journalists, and served as its first president. In 2014, the SNEABJ was recognized as an official chapter by the national organization, and in 2015 it won the 2015 NABJ professional chapter of the year.

A native of Baldwin, NY, Chanteé is a 2006 graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia where she earned a Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.
