"I'm excited to announce I'm heading back to Florida to take on an Investigative Reporting job in Tampa" Jarrod said announced. He added "I have to say it's been a huge honor to have worked with such wonderful people for the last 12 years in New England. From Providence to Boston there are so many hard working, dedicated journalists who care about getting it right. I'm fortunate to have been in Boston to experience first hand how resilient a city can be in the face of adversity, and learn what being BOSTON STRONG is all about!"

An Emmy Award winning journalist, Jarrod leaves WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston, where he has been a freelance reporter for almost 5 years. Declining to pick him up to a full-time reporter, Cox's loss is certainly WFTS-TV's gain. "I'll never forget the patriotism displayed in the streets that night, the USA chants, people singing God Bless America, and the crowd waiving American flags while law enforcement drove by waiving and honking and everyone cheering" Jarrod said. He has also covered the Capture of James Whitey Bulger, Boston Strangler Identified, and the Haiti Earthquake.

Prior to joining FOX 25, Jarrod spent 5 years as a reporter at WPRI-TV CBS 12/WNAC-TV FOX 64 in Providence, RI. in addition to general assignment reporting, he also did several Target 12 Investigations that led to changes in state laws and protocols. Jarrod tells us he worked alongside the "late and great Jack White who I continue to look up to even though he has passed." While in Providence, he also covered such national stories as Hurricane Katrina, the Virginia Tech Shootings, and he was the Lead Reporter on every court case involving the RI Station Night Club Fire.

Jarrod has also worked as a bureau chief reporter at KTAL-TV NBC 6 in Shreveport, LA; and a investigative assistant at KPRC-TV NBC 2 in Houston, TX.

In addition to his work in television news, Jarrod also served for 6 years as an Assaultman in the United States Marine Corps. He has been trained in explosives, rocket and missile launchers, and special ops.

Jarrod loves backpacking remote areas and absorbing authentic culture across the world. He has been a Global Program Manager for RainCatcher.org since 2007, and has helped deliver safe, clean drinking water to Kenya, Uganda, Haiti, and India.

A native of Friendswood, TX, Jarrod is a 1999 graduate of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, TX where he studied radio, television, film productions and television.

Jarrod starts at WFTV in time for May Sweeps.
