Meteorologist Ashley Baylor signed off last Friday from WWLP-TV NBC 22 in Springfield, MA. She had been with WWLP since 2012 as the weekday morning and noon meteorologist.

Ashley is moving down south to Media General sister station WAVY-TV NBC 10 in Portsmouth, VA.

"First off, I want to express how grateful I am to have so many amazing fans! You guys have the ability to pick me up when I'm feeling down, so thank you for all the times you did that!" she said as she announced the news on her Facebook page.

She continued "Sadly, I will be leaving 22News. My last day is NEXT Friday, January 2nd. I will be going to our sister station, WAVY in Portsmouth, Virginia. I'm such a beach bum, so I'm really looking forward to a warmer climate near Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks."

Before coming to WWLP, Ashley was a primetime meteorologist for WEAU-TV NBC 13 and for the WEAU produced 9pm newscast on WLAX-TV FOX 25 in Eau Claire, WI. Prior to that she was a freelance meteorologist for Cablevision's News 12 Connecticut in Norwalk, CT. She was also a freelance weather producer for Time Warner Cable's NY1 news network, and for Good Day New York on WNYW-TV FOX 5 both in New York City.

A native of Shrewsbury, MA, Ashley is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany where she studied broadcast meteorology.

Of her move down south, Ashley said "Forget the Redskins and Nationals - I will remain a HUGE Patriots and Red Sox fan no matter where I go!"

Ashley also thanked her fans on Facebook and said "I leave a piece of my heart here with you guys, and I leave a piece of my heart with my best friends, Ashley Kohl, Laura Hutchinson, and Juli McDonald."
