Kelly Sullivan has been officially promoted to weekday anchor at WPRI-TV in Providence, RI.

Kelly started at WPRI in June 2013 as a weekend anchor and reporter. As a native of Massachusetts, Kelly always hoped to one day work in the area she grew up in. Until this announcement, she had been filling in on the 5:30 p.m. weekday newscast after Shannon Hegy was named main anchor at the station

Kelly joined WPRI from WBBH-TV NBC 2 in Fort Meyers, FL where she spent her first two years as a reporter, before being promoted to spend the next two years as the weekend morning anchor.

Kelly would also meet her husband there, a producer, who is also from Massachusetts. In something that rarely happens in TV, Kelly and her husband's contracts were up at the same time, and they both got jobs back home. Kelly signed on to be the weekend anchor at WPRI, and her husband Mike, got a weekend producer job at WHDH-TV in Boston.

Prior to joining WBBH, she was a reporter at NewsChannel 8 in Washington, D.C., the cable news channel of WJLA-TV. Kelly started her career six days after college graduation at WHSV-TV ABC 3 in Harrisonburg, VA as a reporter.

Kelly graduated from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2006 with a major in Broadcast Journalism and minors in Political Science and History.

Kelly enjoys being back home with her family and friends, cheering on Boston sports teams, and also regrets throwing away her winter boots when she lived in Florida.
