WTNH News 8 took home an impressive 6 awards at the 2014 PromaxBDALocal Awards on Thursday June 26, 2014.

The Connecticut station was the most-awarded local station in the country by PromaxBDA, the leading global association for marketing, promotion and design professionals in the entertainment industry.

"Every day, my goal is to strengthen our brand through the creative, inspirational work of our tremendously talented marketing team," said WTNH Director of Marketing & Digital Media Paul Spingola. "For our work to be recognized by our peers with these awards is both affirming and exciting. We are incredibly proud to receive this honor."

WTNH News 8's awards include a Gold in the Editing category and Bronze in the Brand/Image category for their work on "The News 8 Investigators: What's Done In the Dark…" and another Gold in the Sound Design category and a Silver in the Special News Report category for "A Case of Police Brutality."

"We are committed to fighting for the underdog and telling the stories that affect our viewer's safety, rights and concerns," said Mark Higgins, VP and General Manager of WTNH News 8.  "This recognition by PromaxBDALocal Awards is validation of our team's incredible talent and illustrates their true dedication to our brand's mission."

The annual PromaxBDALocal Awards celebrate and honor the best in local media, marketing and design, driving excellence, creativity and innovation from the local market.  Host of new Warner Bros. daytime talk show "The Real" Loni Love announced the award winners during a luncheon ceremony at the fourth annual PromaxBDA Station Summit in Las Vegas. There are more than 60 categories in which local campaigns can be entered to compete for honors based on design, technical, creative and production merit.

Other local New England stations took home awards as well. WBZ-TV Boston scored two awards; WPRI Providence, WWLP Springfield, and WCCT Hartford all won one.
