Reporter Seth Lemon is no longer with NBCUniversal-owned WVIT-TV NBC Connecticut, New England One has confirmed. This past Friday was his last day.

NBC CT news director Matt Piacente sent an email to staff on Friday afternoon telling them Seth was leaving the station, with no further details.

Originally on the schedule for this week, Seth is rumored to have been fired from the station for an unknown reason and taken off of the schedule.

Seth joined NBC CT in May 2013 as a reporter, and has covered City Hall in Hartford since joining the station. He was also a fill-in anchor, and would anchor breaking news coverage for the NBC Connecticut Today morning show.

Seth joined NBC CT from NBCUniversal sister station WRC-TV NBC 4 in Washington, D.C. where he was a "reporter trainee." He reported for both the broadcast and online platforms of News 4.

Prior to that, he was an intern at NBC News for the "NBC Nightly News" with Brian Williams. Seth has also interned at CNN's "The Situation Room" with Wolf Blitzer, and was a digital journalist for ABC News. Seth also spent 4 years as a student aide with the United States Department of Justice.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Seth is a 2012 graduate of Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he studied journalism and political science.

Seth is a 2011 recipient of the White House Correspondents Association Scholarship, and was honored as a journalism scholar at the White House Correspondents Dinner by President Obama that year.

A resident of Hartford, Seth is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. Raised by his grandmother, he is also now a spokesperson for Hartford's Grandparents Coalition.
