Josh Cingranelli has joined WVIT NBC 30 (NBC Connecticut) in Hartford as a meteorologist.

Josh Cingranelli has joined WVIT NBC 30 (NBC Connecticut) in Hartford as a meteorologist.

"I’m very excited to announce that I have joined the NBC Connecticut First Alert Weather team" Josh said on his Facebook page. "I’ve had a fascination with weather since I was a young boy. I started communicating and sending in weather reports to Brad Field and Bob Maxon when I was eight years old. Brad was and continues to be an excellent mentor."

"It’s a dream come true to be working with such great people and working in my home state. I couldn’t be happier" he continued.

Josh joins NBC Connecticut after taking a 18 month break from television news to pursue a Master's degree in secondary education at Sacred Heart University.

Prior to that, he had been the weekend morning meteorologist at WVNY ABC 22 and WFFF FOX 44 in Burlington, Vermont, and also reported on environmental stories during the week since 2014.

A native of Rome, NY, Josh grew up in Lisbon, CT and is a 2015 graduate of Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, VT where he studied meteorology. A National Weather Service and NBC Connecticut weather observer since he was 8, Josh later interned at NBC Connecticut during college. He also provided forecasts for News 7, Lyndon State's student run television news station.

Josh's first day on-air at NBC Connecticut is January 21.
