Reporter Angelica Spanos is leaving Hartford's WTIC FOX 61, she has announced.

"It was great to inform you and learn from you, Connecticut" Angelica said in a statement on Facebook.

"Everyone here has a big heart and will always hold a place in mine" she said. "I can not thank you enough for the support, inspiration, and enthusiasm. It's been a wonderful three years... from reporting in the early hours of a snow storm to the scene of breaking news. I hope I brought smiles to your faces, because you did to mine, even if it was through a 5am tweet. I am excited to pursue a new adventure!"

Angelica joined FOX 61 in January 2013 as a weekday reporter for the FOX 61 Morning News. Since she's been in Hartford, she has covered everything from the record blizzard of 2013, the Boston Marathon Bombing and the aftermath of the Sandy Hook tragedy.

She joined FOX 61 from WBOC CBS 16 in Salisbury, MD where she was a reporter. While in Maryland, she covered both Hurricanes Irene and Sandy and their extensive damage to the coastline.

Angelica has been awarded with several Associated Press awards. Her television career began in New York City, as a producer/writer for Bloomberg Television.

As a student, Angelica interned in multiple newsrooms that included WTOP, WTTG, CNN, and the Fox Business Network.

A native of Virginia, Angelica is a 2010 graduate of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism where she earned a Master's degree in broadcast journalism. She earned a Bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from The George Washington University in 2009.

Angelica's last day at FOX 61 is Friday.
