Meteorologist Josh Cingranelli has left WFFF-TV FOX 44/WVNY-TV ABC 22 in Burlington, VT to pursue a Master's degree in secondary education.

"Today is bittersweet for me" Josh said on his Facebook page. "I've decided to leave the television industry and pursue a masters degree in secondary education. I'm enrolled in a masters program through Sacred Heart University in Connecticut and start classes next week."

Josh had been the weekend morning meteorologist at Local 22 and Local 44 News, and reported on environmental stories during the week since 2014.

"I've really enjoyed my time here in Vermont and have met some amazing people. Thanks for the great amount of support from my family, friends, and viewers" he said.

A native of Rome, NY, Josh grew up in Lisbon, CT and is a 2015 graduate of Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, VT where he studied meteorology. A National Weather Service and NBC Connecticut weather observer since he was 8, Josh later interned at NBC Connecticut during college. He also provided forecasts for News 7, Lyndon State's student run television news station.

Josh's last day at WFFF/WVNY was August 9.
