Danielle Waugh is joining New England Cable News as a reporter in the Maine bureau, New England One has learned.

Danielle comes to NECN from WCSH-TV NBC 6 in Portland, ME where she has been since 2012. She has held various jobs with WCSH, first joining the station as the chief of the Lewiston/Auburn, ME bureau. From there she moved to reporting for the stations morning program out of Portland, and most recently as the nightside reporter for the evening and late news.

Before joining WCSH, Danielle had been a multimedia reporter and fill-in anchor for sister station WLBZ-TV NBC 2 in Bangor, ME since 2011.

Danielle has also been the public relations director at Empire Mock Trial Association since 2010. There, she oversees the public relations department of the not-for-profit organization that fosters international legal education for high school students through mock trial.

While in college, Danielle worked in a variety of journalism positions. She has been a reporter for ABC News On Campus; a reporter for Syracuse South Side community newspaper The Stand in New York; and a reporter/field producer for public affairs channel CONNECT Syracuse. She has also interned at CNY Central (WSTM-TV/WTVH-TV) in Syracuse; and WJAC-TV in Johnstown, PA.

A native of Greensburg, PA, Danielle is a 2011 graduate of Syracuse University where she studied broadcast and digital journalism, and American history.

It just so happens that Danielle is not moving far for her new position. WCSH/WLBZ & NECN are news partners, and NECN has a workspace within the WCSH newsroom in Portland.

Danielle starts at NECN sometime this month.
