Jim Morelli is joining WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston as a reporter on a part-time basis.

Currently, Jim reports from the Boston area for CNN with a focus on medical reporting, a role he will continue in while working for FOX 25. Jim reports on medical topics like cardiology, oncology, nutrition, rheumatology, among others in his monthly reports for CNN. He works closely with several hospital media relations departments to coordinate interviews and get footage, including Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel/Deaconness and Joslin Diabetes Center. He also occasionally reports travel, business and feature stories.

Previously, Jim was a general assignment reporter for WCVB-TV ABC 5 in Boston. During his time there, he covered breaking news, enterprise reporting and feature stories, many snowstorms, and even a Boston Red Sox victory parade. He also served as the fill-in weekend news anchor.

Jim has also worked as a reporter for WGCL-TV CBS 46 and as an anchor/reporter for CNN, both in Atlanta, GA.

In addition to his work in television news, Jim is also a published author. His work includes pieces in Men's Fitness, USA Today, WebMD and Arthritis Today. He is also the author of two books, Poison: How to Handle The Hazardous Substances in Your Home and Working Out on the Road, and has recently completed his first novel. He also writes articles for medical website WebMD.com.

Jim worked as a pharmacist (he is a certified registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia) and poison control specialist before switching to print and eventually television journalism.
 
A native of Massachusetts, Jim is a graduate of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences where he attained a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. He also earned a Master's degree in civil engineering from Tufts University.

Jim starts at FOX 25 on January 15.
