Michael Henrich Joining FOX 25 as Reporter

Michael Henrich is joining WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston as a morning reporter.

"...I've been offered an amazing opportunity, one about which I had stopped allowing myself to dream: an opportunity to be oh so close to the family and friends I grew up with in the northeast" Michael said on his Facebook page.

"I am so excited to go from one amazing news team to another."

Michael comes to FOX 25 from WXIN-TV FOX 59 in Indianapolis, IN where he is currently a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor. During his time in Indianapolis, Michael has covered many of the region's most impactful recent events, including the South Side Explosion and the tragic killing of two Indianapolis Metropolitan Police officers. Honored by receiving several awards in his career, Michael was humbled to be recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists as having the top breaking news report in the Hoosier State in 2013.

Previously, Michael was a morning anchor at WNWO-TV NBC 24 in Toledo, OH. In addition to anchoring a mostly un-scripted 2.5-hour weekday morning newscast, he also produced and hosted 30 minute special reports for the station. He was also on the Board of Directors of the Press Club of Toledo during his time in Ohio.

Michael was also a weekend anchor and reporter for KOKH-TV FOX 25 in Oklahoma City, OK. His work ranged from storm chasing and speaking with tornado survivors as they emerged from the rubble, to breaking open alleged cover-ups of ignored child abuse tips. Michael was also nominated for a NATAS-Heartland Chapter Emmy Award for spot news during his time at KOKH.

Michael has also been a reporter for WFFF-TV FOX 44 in Burlington, VT; a producer at News 12 Interactive in New York City; and started his careen as a desk assistant at the Washington, D.C. bureau of ABC News.

A native of Syosset, NY, Michael is a 2006 graduate of The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. where he studied political science and German language and literature.

While studying abroad in Berlin, Germany, Michael met his wife, Renee. His family jokes that he traveled halfway across the globe in order to meet a girl from Wisconsin.

Michael starts at FOX 25 on February 18.
