Elizabeth Hopkins has been named weekend evening anchor at WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston. She will also fill-in on weekday evening newscasts.

Most recently, Elizabeth has been a in-house morning reporter and anchor on the FOX 25 Morning News, a position she has held since 2010.

Elizabeth came to FOX 25 from WPRI-TV CBS 12/WNAC-TV FOX 64 in Providence, RI where she was the weekday morning and noon news anchor. She was also one of the original co-hosts of 'The Rhode Show,' a daily lifestyle and entertainment program.

Previously, Elizabeth spent several years WKOW-TV ABC 27 in Madison, WI, where she was an anchor and reporter.  There, she earned an Emmy nomination for her report on "bug chasing," a term which refers to those seeking HIV infection. 

She was also the evening anchor and reporter at KNBN-TV NBC 21 in Rapid City, SD and started her career at KAUN-TV in Sioux Falls. SD.

A native of New York, Elizabeth spent most of her summers on Cape Cod with her family. She is a 2002 graduate of The College of New Jersey where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. She has also earned an Associates degree in business administration and in marketing from the State University of New York at Rockland.

In her spare time, Elizabeth says she enjoys not camping. She cooks, although friends and family have asked her to stop. She has an inexplicable fondness for accordian music. While Elizabeth's mother waits in desperation for a grandchild, her father hopes for one named Oceanus - the first child born in the new world. Her Mom will eventually get her way. Her Dad is out of luck. She also has a great sense of humor.
