New England's largest weather team has just gotten larger as Jacqueline Bennett has joined WBTS NBC Boston as a meteorologist.

Jacqueline joins chief meteorologist Matt Noyes, and meteorologists Pete Bouchard, Tim Kelley, Chris Gloninger, Jackie Layer, Michael Page, and Telemundo Boston's Cecy Gutierrez.

Jacqueline will be doing weather weekdays at noon on NBC Boston and also appearing on NECN during the week, as well as weather reporting.

Jacqueline joins NBC Boston from XETV-TDT CW 6 in San Diego, California where she had been the weekday meteorologist and traffic reporter since May 2015 - XETV is San Diego based, but holds a Mexican broadcast license.

Before joining XETV, Jacqueline served as the chief meteorologist at KRON 4 in San Francisco for over six years.

She was also a weekend anchor, weather anchor, and reporter at KIVI ABC 6 in Boise, Idaho for over two years. Boise still holds a special place in her heart, because that’s where she met her fighter-pilot husband.

Prior to her television career, Jacqueline was a high-school Spanish teacher in Southern California.

Outside of forecasting the weather, Jacqueline is the founder of the "Yellow Dog Blog". Her experiences as a first-time dog owner led her to launch the blog, named after her little rascal Yellow Dog, that’s filled with expert tips and advice to help other dog owners raise happy, healthy pups. She happily does charity work for various animal organizations and advocates animal adoption.

Jacqueline is a 2005 graduate of California State University at Northridge where she earned dual Bachelor's degrees in journalism, and in Spanish language and culture. She studied Spanish abroad at La Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain.

In 2013, she graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor's degree in atmospheric sciences with a concentration in meteorology.

Jacqueline is also a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist, a designation awarded by the American Meteorological Society only to candidates with a degree in the Geosciences and demonstrative high-quality on-air work.

Jacqueline started at NBC Boston this week.
