Sera Congi is moving up the dial one channel to WCVB-TV.

Most recently, Sera was a general assignment reporter for WBZ-TV, where she had been since 2005.

In October WBZ had announced that, along with Joe Shortsleeve and Michael Rosenfield, Sera had been let go from the station.

“Their contracts are not being renewed,” a station spokesperson told the Boston Herald. “We thank them for their contributions to the station and wish them well in the future.”

Prior to joining WBZ, Sera spent ten years as an anchor and reporter at WCAX-TV CBS 3 in Burlington, VT.

During her time at WCAX, Congi received multiple honors for “Best Newscast.” She received the New England Edward R. Murrow Award for a documentary on presidential candidate Howard Dean, and earned several Associated Press Awards for her coverage on health care policy.

A graduate from Baruch College, City University of New York, Congi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Sera's first day at WCVB is today.

Congrats, Sera!
