Jonathan Choe has joined NECN and NBC Boston as a general assignment reporter, New England One has learned.

Jonathan comes to the NBC-owned duopoly from KMSP-TV FOX 9 in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota, where he was a general assignment reporter for three years.

Prior to working in Minnesota, Jonathan held several positions in the Chicago area. Most recently, he was an adjunct journalism professor at Columbia College. He also worked as a Multimedia Consultant for the John D. & Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, a foundation supporting non-profit organizations in nearly 50 countries. He was also a founder of Change Media Group, a group that encouraged the youth to participate in entrepreneurial journalism and become credible story tellers in their neighborhood.

Choe also worked in Chicago as a general assignment reporter for Chicagoland Television (CLTV), the Tribune-owned cable network, and as a news writer for WFLD-TV FOX 32. 

Jonathan got his on-air start at WCIA-TV CBS 3 in Champlaign, Illinios as a general assignment reporter. He started his career here in Boston, working as a News Writer for WHDH and NECN.

Jonathan is a 2000 graduate of Boston University where he studied Broadcast Journalism.
