Here is what viewership looked like in the Boston television market for the March 2016 rating period.
WCVB won all but one time period in the Households and Persons 2+ demos, WHDH won 4:30pm in both. WCVB and WHDH split most of the wins in the advertiser friendly Adults 25-54 demographic, with WFXT winning late news at 10pm.
Here are the highlights in the A25-54 demo:
- WCVB won all newscasts in the morning from 4am-7am
- Good Morning America on WCVB won from 7am-9am
- WHDH won at 9am
- WHDH won noon ahead of WBZ (#2), and WCVB (#3)
- WHDH won 4pm-5pm
- WHDH took back the win from WCVB for 5pm-6pm
- WCVB won at 6pm
- WCVB won at 7pm
- WFXT won at 10pm, more than doubling nearest competitor WLVI (WHDH), and beating WLVI (WHDH), WSBK (WBZ) & MeTV Boston (WCVB) combined.
- WHDH won at 11pm
