Reporter Christine McCarthy has been promoted to a full-time position at WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston, the station tells New England One.

Christine joined FOX 25 in May 2015 as a part-time reporter, and has since been reporting for newscasts across all time periods.

Christine joined FOX 25 from KUTV-TV CBS 2 in Salt Lake City, UT where she was a reporter. Prior to that, she was an anchor and reporter for KXXV-TV ABC 25 in Waco, TX.

While in Texas, Christine covered the arrest, trial and conviction of Naser Abdo, the AWOL soldier who planned to bomb a Killeen restaurant popular with Fort Hood troops. She's also appeared on national radio and HLN’s Nancy Grace for her reports.

Christine was also a multimedia journalist for NewTV, a non-profit organization that provides news and resources to the Newton, MA community. She's also interned at New England Cable News, WLVI-TV (prior to the sale of the station to Sunbeam Television), and WHDH-TV.

A native of the Boston area, Christine is a 2008 graduate of Boston University where she studied broadcast journalism.
