TV news is often accused of exaggerating.
Some of the complaints are warranted. But often times, the exaggeration is not intentional. A big reason why, is using a key word as a crutch. That word is it.
Why is it a no no? The biggest reason is it leaves plenty of wiggle room. In other words, you use it when trying to get around not knowing some key facts.
