She has also worked at WWLP-TV NBC 22 in Springfield, MA from March 2011 to September 2012, where she anchored and produced the 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm weekend news.

1. What kind of phone do you have, and what are your favorite apps?
  I have a Galaxy S5 and an iPhone 5 but my loyalty leans Android. Favorite apps – anything social, especially Twitter since I live-tweet traffic nonstop. A lot of my tipsters like to use Twitter DMs, so it’s a very valuable resource for me.

2. Favorite and least favorite news topics to cover (besides violent crime)?
 Favorite: Anything having to do with veterans, animals or the outdoors. I am passionate about telling stories that make people feel GOOD about living here in my beautiful home state of Connecticut.

 Least favorite: Any story involving animal abuse or neglect.

3. If you weren't working in TV news, what would you be doing?
 As a lifelong outdoorswoman, a dream job would be working with CT DEEP in communications or fisheries management. Or hosting my own fishing show.

4. What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
 Definitely He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and G.I. Joe. I was a tomboy for sure!

5. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
 Love to sweat it out at CrossFit… or get some quality couch time in with my cats and Parks and Rec on DVR.

6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
 Fly fishing in Patagonia. (Notice a pattern here? I may have a problem.)

7. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
 My grandfathers, who both passed before I could hear all of their life lessons and stories of service in WW2.

8. Do you collect anything?
 There is no such thing as too much fishing tackle. I can stop anytime I want!

9. What are the top 3 played songs on your iPod?
 I shuffle. I like to live dangerously.

10. What is one of your favorite quotes?
 “All that is gold does not glitter,
 Not all those who wander are lost;
 The old that is strong does not wither,
 Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

 From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
 A light from the shadows shall spring;
 Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
 The crownless again shall be king.”
  - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

11. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
 My hiatus from news. I became very unhappy in the nearly two years I was out of the business, so I decided to fight my way back in. And now I’m deliriously happy, working in a dream newsroom. It wasn’t easy, but the experience affirmed to me this is what I’m truly meant to be doing. It forced me to fight hard and find my niche. Now I’m grateful for every day, every assignment, and for the privilege of working to serve our viewers here in my home market.
