1. What kind of phone do you have, and what are your favorite apps?
I recently upgraded to the iPhone 6-plus - love it - can't imagine having a small phone again! CNN is great and easy to use. CaneCast (terrific for hurricane season here) all of the social media apps and my station's upgraded app is very user friendly. I also use Shazam constantly!

2. Favorite and least favorite news topics to cover (besides violent crime)?
I enjoy any opportunity to work off script - using whatever I've learned over the years to help steer our coverage - so most breaking news. Aside from that human interest. ANY story about someone overcoming adversity, especially the ones where strangers are so moved they help - always restores my faith in humanity. Least favorite? Anything that negatively impacts children. Crime. Bullying. Anything that leaves a child feeling less than or not worthy.

3. If you weren't working in TV news, what would you be doing?
I ALWAYS wanted to be an architect.  Not  so much residential , but commercial public buildings.  Odd I suppose, but I wanted to design schools, hospitals, office buildings...

4. What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
 Superfriends!

5. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
Because I teach at a couple universities here in the morning before work, those 30-minutes are usually in between "jobs," short stints of time like that usually go to changing, inhaling a meal, and rushing out the door again. If I have a bit longer, nothing beats a relaxing hour or two at the pool - or better yet the beach.

6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
I'm not much for exotic travel & I'm a huge U.S. history buff, I'd love to visit all 50 states and soak up all the Americana.  I've probably been to 25-30.. clearly i have some traveling to do!

7. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
My dad. He died when I was 9.  I'd love to know him, and have him know me, as an adult.

8. Do you collect anything?
Campaign posters. Campaign pins. Mic flags (I have a decent collection but always looking for more ;)

9. What are the top 3 played songs on your iPod?
Songs, not sure, As far as artists:   Tim McGraw. Racal Flatts... most any of their work gets a ton of play. I'm a huge country music fan, though it depends on my mood. Sundays are for Jazz. I'll enjoy vintage Oasis or Coldplay as well.. pretty eclectic taste in music.

10. What is one of your favorite quotes?
A couple come to mind: "It's not what happens to you, it's what you DO with what happens to you."  & Mae West's "You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

11. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
I'd have to say taking on more responsibility, albeit from a distance, caring for an elderly parent. (Mom is in Massachusetts) We're at the point where our roles are beginning to reverse, In much the same way when I was young, she worked hard to make sure I had whatever I needed, I now do that for her. In many ways I guess it's like being a parent. You feel responsible, you do your best to step up to the plate and be what they need, provide what they need, etc.  The cycle of life - I'm just glad I'm able to do it!
