Tatevik Aprikyan has joined WPRI-TV/WNAC-TV Eyewitness News in Providence, RI as a reporter.

Tatevik joins WPRI from KIFI-TV ABC 8 & KIDK CBS 3 in Idaho Falls, ID where she was most recently a weekend anchor/reporter.

Previously, Tatevik worked as an intern for KING-TV NBC 5 in Seattle, WA where she was given the exciting opportunity to learn about story-telling from the journalists she grew up watching. She has also interned for the "Late Show with David Letterman" in New York City.
Tatevik got her start in journalism when she was a 16 year old high school student at NPR affiliate KUOW radio in Seattle. She worked on the morning news talk show as a producer as well as a contributing reporter for youth-produced segments.

In addition to her radio experience, Tatevik spent a couple years working in print journalism as a columnist for King County Journal Newspapers, where she ran a bi-weekly column on youth-related issues and as a reporter for a lifestyle arts and entertainment magazine in Seattle.

A native of Yerevan, Armenia, Tatevik moved to Seattle when she was 5 years old and grew up there. In addition to Armenian and English, she also speaks Russian and French.

Outside of journalism, she has spent time working in the staffing industry, and as a financial analyst.

Tatevik attended Columbia College Chicago where she studied broadcast journalism.

Tatevik is an avid tennis player, a black-belt in taekwondo, a former gymnast and figure skater. When she’s not working she loves to write, read and of course, being from Seattle, a strong cup of coffee. She also serves on the board of S.O.A.R, a non-profit organization providing humanitarian relief to Armenian orphans around the world.

Her first day on-air was October 17.

Welcome to Rhode Island, Tatevik!
