Eyewitness News on WPRI 12 and Fox Providence had a strong November 2014 ratings period - winning 3 newscasts and showing consistent growth, especially with viewers Adults 18-49, the station said.

As we told you at the begining of the month, WPRI was waiting on the Nielsen key demo numbers for this past sweeps period saying that "WJAR [was] a bit premature with their numbers." 

Highlights include:

  • Eyewitness News at 10pm on Fox Providence was once again the #1 late news
  • Eyewitness News at Noon was also #1 again in its time period
  • Eyewitness News This Morning was the #1 newscast at 4:30am
  • Eyewitness News at 6:30pm on Fox Providence tripled ratings with young adult viewers
  • WPRI.com is the #1 local, news website in the Providence/New Bedford DMA

This November, Eyewitness News This Morning at 4:30am on WPRI 12 was #1 in all key demos. The 4:30am news was up 50% year to year with Adults 18-49, doubled ratings Adults 25-54 and tripled ratings with Women 25-54 and 35+. Eyewitness News This Morning from 5am to 7am was up 9% with Adults 18-49, 25% Adults 25-54 and up 20% with Women 25-54. Eyewitness News This Morning at 7am on Fox Providence continued its growth with Adults 18-49, up 75% book to book and up 17% year to year. Eyewitness News at Noon was once again #1 with Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54.
 
Also in November, the early evening newscasts on WPRI 12 continue to show impressive growth. Eyewitness News Live at 5pm increased viewership 15% year to year with Adults 18-49 and grew significantly book to book with Adults 18-49 by 88%. The growth with younger viewers continues with Eyewitness News at 5:30pm, increasing 129% book to book.  Eyewitness News at 6pm grew its audience in all key demographics, up 46% Adults 18-49, 38% Adults 25-54, 59% Women 25-54 and 21% Women 35+. Another success story, Eyewitness News at 6:30pm on Fox Providence tripled its rating, growing 200% in Adults 18-49. In the late news race, Eyewitness News at 10 on Fox Providence was #1 in both Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54.

In other key programming, The Rhode Show on WPRI 12 also saw growth with younger viewers. The entertainment and lifestyle program was up 67% book to book with Adults 18-49 and up 25% from last November.
 
When it comes to digital multi-screen coverage, WPRI.com ranked #1 as the most visited local, news website. According to Adobe Analytics, WPRI.com was up 61% year to year in total page views, 114% in video views, 58% in unique visitors, and 48% in visits.
