As we first reported earlier this afternoon on our NEwser blog, morning reporter Kate Rayner is leaving WFSB Channel 3 Eyewitness News.

News director Dana Neves confirmed this afternoon that Kate will leave the station in mid-September, and that a replacement would be named in the next few days.

Before coming to WFSB, Kate worked as the South Carolina Bureau Chief for WJBF News Channel 6 in Augusta, Georgia.

Kate is a graduate of Loyola University Maryland, and attended high school in Connecticut at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich. She also studied abroad in Spain at the Universidad de Alcala and speaks Spanish.
