1. What kind of phone do you have, and what are your favorite apps?
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 – and, I’m constantly scrolling my Facebook and Instagram feeds! All of my friends are scattered across the country, so these apps allow me to stay in touch.

2. Favorite and least favorite news topics to cover (besides violent crime)?
I love telling stories that will enact change within our Western Massachusetts community – being able to share inspiring, empowering stories about real people is what this job is all about.

My least favorite topic to cover is anything related to a tragedy – I’ve had to speak with countless parents who have lost a child, or families who have lost their home to a fire. It’s just heartbreaking.

3. If you weren't working in TV news, what would you be doing?
If I wasn’t working in TV news, I would be an art teacher. News is my passion and my career, painting is a lifelong hobby – I would love to work in a school, and help students unlock their creativity within the classroom.

4. What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
I loved the cartoon “Hey Arnold!” on Nickelodeon. I remember being glued to my television screen on Saturday mornings, watching endless amounts of cartoons with my sister.

5. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?
I’m an avid runner, and love being outside. Whenever I have 30 minutes of free time, I lace up my running sneakers and jog around my neighborhood. Not only does it help me unwind from the day, but it also leaves me feeling refreshed and energized.

6. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
If I could travel anywhere, I would visit Italy. I love the culture (and the ability to eat as much pasta and pizza as I want)!

7. Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?
If I could invite anyone over for dinner, it would be Oprah Winfrey. I used to watch her talk show every afternoon, and always respected her work immensely. She’s one of the driving forces behind my decision to pursue a career in TV journalism.

8. Do you collect anything?
Of course – shoes! I’m a firm believer you can never have too many.

9. What are the top 3 played songs on your iPod?
“Yellow Light” by Of Monsters and Men
"Maps” by Maroon Five
“Seeing Stars” by Borns

10. What is one of your favorite quotes?
“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” - Dr. Seuss

11. What was the last experience that made you a stronger person?
As corny as it sounds, every day on the job makes me a stronger person. I meet so many people who have been through so much, and just hearing their struggles and triumphs – makes me stronger. It makes you feel even more connected to the place you call home.
