Lisa Carberg is leaving WVIT-TV NBC 30 (NBC Connecticut) in Hartford after 17 years, New England One has learned.

"Lisa Carberg has decided to leave NBC Connecticut to pursue new career opportunities outside the station" NBC CT Spokesperson Laura Gremelsbacker said in a statement. "We are so grateful for her 17 years serving the viewers of Connecticut with her exceptional journalism and dedication to the community. Her last day with us is Thursday, June 25th. We wish Lisa the very best in her future endeavors and know she'll be a success in whatever she chooses to do next."

Lisa is currently a health and enterprise reporter at the station, reporting for the "Be Healthy" franchise and other special projects.

"I have had the true pleasure of working with so many wonderful and talented people in my years at NBC Connecticut. I am proud to have had the honor of being trusted and welcomed into people’s homes to report unprecedented tragedies and storms. I have enjoyed reporting on meaningful health stories, profiling people who make a difference in our communities and helping many non-profit agencies share their important messages. I am now excited about new opportunities in my life that will allow me to spend more time with my family."

Lisa joined NBC Connecticut in 1995 as the weekend evening anchor. After 4 years, she left the station and joined Fox News Channel in New York City where she anchored hourly news updates, and was also a fill-in host for news programming.

Lisa returned to NBC Connecticut in 2002 as the weekend anchor and consumer reporter. In 2007, she moved to the weekday anchor desk to co-anchor the stations early evening newscasts. In 2014, she was moved from anchoring the 5pm & 5:30pm newscasts to her current position as health and enterprise reporter.

Lisa joined NBC Connecticut from WSAV-TV NBC 3 in Savannah, GA where she was the main co-anchor of the stations 6pm & 11pm news. During her time in Georgia, she also co-hosted the MDA Telethons & St. Patrick's Day Parades for WSAV.

Lisa started her television news career at WJKA-TV in Wilmington, NC as a reporter and photographer.

A native of Old Saybrook, CT, Lisa is a 1990 graduate of Suffolk University in Boston where she studied communications and journalism.
