Melissa Mahan has been named anchor at KCOY-TV CBS/FOX 12 and KEYT-TV ABC 3 in Santa Barbara, CA.

“I’m thrilled to return to the Central Coast where my television career started,” she said. “After working at TV stations across the country, I can honestly say there is no place I would rather call home. I’m honored to join such a talented news team and become part of a very special community.”

Melissa replaces Paula Lopez Ochoa who was arrested in September and charged with driving under the influence, assault of a police officer and resisting arrest.

Most recently, Melissa was an anchor at WFXT-TV FOX 25 in Boston. She joined FOX 25 in December 2012 as weekend anchor of the Saturday and Sunday editions of "FOX25 News at 6pm," "FOX25 News at 10pm" and the Sunday edition of "FOX25 News at 11pm." More recently, she had been one of the early morning news anchors on the "FOX 25 Morning News." She left FOX 25 in December 2014.

Prior to working for FOX 25, Melissa was an anchor/reporter at Hearst station KOAT-TV ABC 7 in Albuquerque, NM.

Melissa has also worked as a anchor/reporter at WLNE-TV ABC 6 in Providence, RI and at WJCT-TV ABC 8 in Grand Junction, CO. In addition, she was also the affiliate relations administrator at FSN Bay Area (now Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area) in San Francisco, CA.

A native of California, Melissa is a 2002 graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara.
