WGGB-TV ABC 40, WGGB-DT2 FOX 6 and WSHM-LD CBS 3 have combined their news operations to create "Western Mass News," an exciting new concept that debuted today with a 12pm noon newscast on ABC 40 in Springfield, MA.

New England One is in Western Massachusetts, and will have full coverage of the debut tonight.

“Bringing these stations together will enable us to bring more resources to our news coverage, more unique content to our viewers and more choices for our advertisers,” said Western Mass News Vice President / General Manager Klarn DePalma. “This demonstrates our commitment to local news in Western Massachusetts.  We believe this is the future of local media in this market and we’re proud to be leading the way.”

Western Mass News will broadcast from a new state of the art studio on 1300 Liberty Street in Springfield. Setting new standards in the market, the new facility is designed for interactive storytelling. There are many multi-purpose areas designed to keep the news staff, anchors and reporters close to the action while keeping the viewer better informed.
