Jeff Desnoyers is joining Providence's WLNE-TV ABC 6 as evening meteorologist, New England One has learned.

“We're excited to introduce Jeff to our viewers. His expertise will be of great value as we head into cooler fall and winter weather" said ABC 6 news director Nic Moye in a statement. "Everyone watching will walk away with a better understanding of what's happening around us. Jeff will fit in well with our experienced evening news team, John Deluca, Alexandra Cowley, Liz Tufts and Ken Bell."

Jeff replaces Kevin Coskren who left ABC6 in July for a job at WRDW-TV in Augusta, GA.

He comes to ABC 6 from FiOS 1 News where he was a meteorologist for the past three years. While there, Jeff forecasted the weather for New Jersey, and Long Island and the lower Hudson Valley, New York. Prior to that, he spent 2 years as the morning and noon meteorologist at WMBD-TV CBS 31 in Peoria, IL. Jeff began his career as a meteorologist at KGWN-TV CBS 5 in Cheyenne, WY in September 2007.

A Connecticut native, Jeff was born in New London and raised in Niantic, and grew up spending time with his family at the Rhode Island shore. "Southern New England is my favorite part of the U.S. and I’m happy to be able to call this home" Jeff said in a statement. "I love weather and enjoy being able to do something I have a passion for each day.”

Jeff is a 2009 graduate of Mississippi State Universiry where he earned a Bachelor's degree in geosciences with a concentration in meteorology.

His first day on-air at ABC6 is October 2.
