New Evening Anchor Lineup and Behind the Scenes Additions at WJAR

With the announcement that Alison Bologna was trading in evenings for mornings, and that anchor Emily Volz was hired to take her place, some additional changes are happening at the anchor desk at WJAR-TV NBC 10 in Providence.

Starting Monday, Gene Valicenti will join Patrice Wood on the 5pm newscast, and both will continue to anchor at 6pm. Dan Jaehnig will move to 5:30pm and anchor alongside new-hire Emily Volz, both will also anchor the 7pm program. Patrice and Dan will continue to anchor together at 11pm.

In addition to those changes, a few others were noted as well:

Wade Parsons will join WJAR as night side executive producer. "Wade has 8 years of producing and executive producing experience from Orlando to New York City. He comes to us from WRNN in New York where he EPs mornings. Wade is also a proficient Avid editor, so his timing couldn’t be better!" says an internal station email.

Ryan Pickering will join WJAR as a photographer. "Ryan clearly has a keen eye for breaking news.  In addition, his time at NECN has brought him up to speed on active, off-the-sticks live shots, and being a prolific social media content provider" the station email says.

Congrats to both Wade and Ryan on their new jobs, they both start on August 24.
