Melissa Randall has been promoted to weekend evening anchor/reporter at WLNE-TV ABC 6 in Providence, RI.
Melissa joined WLNE in July 2012 as a multimedia journalist. In addition to running her own live shots with a TVU backpack, writes and posts stories and videos to the stations website, www.abc6.com.
Prior to joining WLNE, Melissa was a general assignment reporter for Charter cable's TV 3 in Worcester, MA where she reported for the NECN produced "Worcester News Tonight." She has also been a freelance reporter for the weekend newscasts on New England Cable News.
During her time reporting, Melissa has covered major stories including the Central/Western Mass Tornadoes, The Boston Marathon Bombings, and the Aaron Hernandez murder Investigation.
A native of Millville, MA, Melissa is a 2009 graduate of Curry College in Milton, MA where she earned a Bachelor's degree in communications.
While in college, Melissa spent two years as the news director at Curry's radio station, WMLN-FM 91.5. She has also spent time interning at WJAR-TV NBC 10, NCAC-TV, and the Yound Sportscasters of America. She has also hosted two episodes of "Totally Patriots," a weekly youth-oriented football show on WBZ, Channel 4 in Boston.
Melissa enjoys spending time with family and friends, cheering on Boston sports teams and spending time on Rhode Island beaches.
