Melissa Sardelli has joined WPRI CBS 12/WNAC FOX 64 in Providence, Rhode Island as the traffic reporter for Eyewitness News This Morning.

This is Melissa's second stint at WPRI, she started her career there back in 2004, and left to concentrate on her family in 2013. Melissa was most recently a digital reporter for the station, enterprising a nightly webcast for the stations websites WPRI.com and FoxProvidence.com. Her contributions to the WPRI/WNAC website helped the station win an Associated Press Award for “Online Content."

She previously worked on The Rhode Show as a reporter and fill-in Technology Reporter.

She is excited to be waking up Southern New England alongside Eyewitness News anchors Patrick Little and Danielle North and Meteorologist Michelle Muscatello.

A native Rhode Islander, Melissa graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor's degree in journalism.

Melissa is passionate about helping animals and has dedicated and volunteered much of her time and energy at local shelters.

In her free time, she enjoys horseback riding and spending time with her husband and three young children.

Melissa started back at WPRI in May.
