Amanda Jellig has joined Sinclair's WGME-TV CBS 13 in Portland, ME as meteorologist for Good Day Maine.

"Good Day Maine on CBS 13 and Fox 23 is welcoming Meteorologist Amanda Jellig to the morning team! We’re very happy for her to be joining us and hope you are too. Her reliable and accurate morning forecasts will help you plan your day here on Good Day Maine" WGME said on its Facebook page.

Her forecasts will be seen from 4:30am to 7am on CBS 13 and 7am-8am on WPFO-TV FOX 23.

Amanda joins WGME from KNOE-TV CBS 8 in Monroe, LA where she was the morning meteorologist on 'Good Morning ArkLaMiss'. Prior to that, she was the weekend meteorologist at WMDT-TV ABC 47 in Salisbury, MD.

A native of Huntington, NY, Amanda received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Meteorology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. While  in school she worked in the student run TV Weather Studio and was a member of the campus television program, Eaglecast.

Her passion for weather came at a young age. Ironically, she was frightened by storms but the fear turned into an interest.

When she is not in the studio you can find her out exploring. She always likes to do something different, whether it be a new location to explore or a new food. Amanda also loves exercising, and if it's a nice day she likes to go out for a run with her dog Addison.

Amanda's first day on-air at WGME was December 29.
