Amy Parmenter has announced she is leaving her position as a reporter at WVIT-TV NBC 30 (NBC Connecticut) in Hartford.

"This was one and done, but fun while it lasted" she said on Facebook. "And, as many of you know, this will be my last week at NBC CT. Mixed emotions but mostly excited about the future... Thanks for the memories friends."

Amy joined NBC Connecticut in 2006, and has been reporting on "the most high-profile crime stories to high impact stories in health care and education, politics and special features" since.

NBC Connecticut spokesperson Laura Gremelsbacker tells New England One that "Freelance Reporter Amy Parmenter is leaving NBC Connecticut. We wish Amy well as she pursues an exciting new opportunity."

Amy came to NBC Connecticut from CBS Philly/KYW-AM radio in Philadelphia where she was an anchor and reporter. During her tenure there, she also hosted a talk show for over two years.

Amy is also the owner of ParmFarm Media where she consults on "developing corporate communications, managing media relations and directing new media strategies for businesses, organizations and C-suite personnel." In addition, she publishes a blog at www.ParmFarm.com, which is an interview driven website and blog that inspires personal and professional 'growth', while raising the media bar to include social responsibility.

Previously, Amy has also worked as an anchor and reporter for a cable station in New Jersey covering news and sports.

During her career, Amy has been featured on MSNBC, The Weather Channel, CBS Radio and CNN Radio.

Prior to her time in media or television news, Amy founded and ran Aberdeen & Dunbar, a popular line of men's, women's and children's apparel that was sold in stores nationwide. She also had her company featured in fashion magazines like Elle, Vogue, Glamour, and GQ.

A native of Havertown, PA, Amy is a graduate of Temple University where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Sports Medicine.

Amy's last day is July 10.
