WTNH is moving its lifestyle program Connecticut Style to 9am and expanding it to 1 hour starting in January. WTNH has also tapped media personality Ryan Kristafer to join Teresa Dufour as co-host.
"Just signed 2-year contract with WTNH News 8 to host Connecticut Style with Teresa Dufour, Monday thru Friday, following Good Morning America. Very excited for this new journey. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged me to achieve my dreams - I won't let you down" he said today on Facebook.
A lifestyle/entertainment magazine show, CT Style debuted on February 23, 2009 in the 12:30 p.m time slot after News 8 at Noon was cut down to a half hour.
CT Style takes on the same format as other lifestyle programs on other LIN Media properties. In New England, The Rhode Show on WPRI-TV (which premiered around the same time as CT Style,) and Mass Appeal on WWLP-TV (which premiered in 2011) are both an hour long.
Kristafer, the son of longtime Connecticut radio personality Jerry Kristafer, is a multi-faceted media personality who has hosted and produced for television, and has emceed live events.
Kristafer, wanting to follow in his dad's footsteps, started a DJ business at age 18 and worked his way up to being one of the resident DJ's at the Mohegan Sun casino. That position led to him hosting on-stage cash giveaways and game shows for them.
Since then, he has emceed events for brands such as: Microsoft, Macy’s, General Mills, Brookstone, Lowe’s, Marriott, Head & Shoulders, The VFW, and The Guinness World Records, to name a few.
Kristafer also hosts the "Man in the Stands" segment on NBC Sports Radio.
When not on stage of in front of the camera, Krisafer also develops digital content for Game Show Network, and creates custom-branded game shows for all types of events and companies.
A Connecticut native, Kristafer is a 2012 graduate of Central Connecticut State University where he studied marketing.
His debut on CT Style is set for January 12, 2015.
