Kathryn Burcham is joining Boston's WFXT-TV FOX 25 as a reporter.

Kathryn comes to FOX 25 from Cox Media Group sister station WSOC-TV ABC 9 in Charlotte, NC where she has been a reporter since 2011.

Previously, Kathryn was a reporter at COX station WHIO-TV CBS 7 in Dayton, OH. During that time Kathryn received the 2010 National Edward R. Murrow Award for Video Investigative Reporting for a series of stories about a community where residents were drinking well water laced with toxic levels of arsenic. As a result of that investigation, a million dollar grant was awarded to residents so they could build a system to provide clean drinking water. In addition to being named Best Reporter by the Ohio Associated Press in 2009, Kathryn also received Regional Emmy nominations for Best Education Report in 2009 and Best Reporter in 2010.

Kathryn has also worked at WMBD-TV CBS 31 in Peoria, IL as the Twin Cities Bureau Chief reporter and broke several big stories on government corruption, including one that led to the prosecution and conviction of a former city employee for theft.

A native of Northern Kentucky, Kathryn is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she studied journalism and Spanish.

In her spare time, Kathryn loves to travel and has lived in Santiago, Chile and studied the Mayan ruins in Mexico. She also likes to read, spend time with friends and family, and sing karaoke.

Welcome to Boston, Kathryn!
