The new look for New England Cable News will be debuting soon after the new year. The rebranding includes a new set, a new graphics package, and renovations to the NECN facility including a brand new newsroom.

When we first updated you about the renovation progress, we wondered if the new graphic wraps on the news vehicles would be any indication on what the new on-air graphics package would look like. Well, now we know.

We haven't seen the new set yet, but we now have a preview of what the new graphics package looks like. A color palette of white, gold and blue, with a clean crisp look is reflected through most of the package. The look is somewhat similar to the graphics package on WJAR-TV that debuted in April of this year.

The graphics were designed by Los Angeles area graphics designer Craig Stouffer, who is the art director at brand consultancy & creative agency Troika.

The Troika agency was responsible for rebranding the W Network, Entertainment Tonight and Time Warner Cable News. They have also done brand identity work for national networks like ABC and The CW, and cable networks like TNT and WE TV.

Craig Stouffer specifically has designed graphics for KHON-TV, WAVY-TV and KXAS-TV among many others. You can view his Behance online portfolio here.

You can take a look at the new package below. Pay attention to the "sponsored by Chipotle" graphic... is that the new set in the background? *Update, it's not... it's the E! News set that is used for the background in that graphic.

Other "sites" can tell you they were first, but the reality speaks for itself. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all. :-)
