Nick Emmons has joined New England Cable News and NBC Boston, New England One has learned.

Nick Emmons has joined New England Cable News and NBC Boston, New England One has learned.

“With over a decade of experience in covering countless major breaking news stories, Nick is a great addition to the team,” said Kenny Plotnik, Vice President of News, necn. “I have no doubt that Boston viewers will eagerly tune-in to watch Nick each day.”

Nick was most recently a weekend anchor and weekday reporter at WHDH 7, which is losing its NBC affiliation to NBC Boston in January.

While at WHDH, Nick covered many big news stories across the region, including reporting from the Boston Marathon terror trials, anchoring Emmy award-winning coverage of a historic blizzard, and leading live team coverage of the Patriots Super Bowl celebration in 2015.

In 2015, Nick was awarded a regional Emmy for best general assignment reporter. He was also honored with an Edward R. Murrow award for a series called "Made in Massachusetts" which profiled companies and employees in the Bay State.

Nick joined WHDH in 2013 as a weekday anchor from KDVR-TV FOX 31/KWGN-TV CW 2 in Denver, CO where he most recently anchored the 7pm news on KWGN. He has previously been the morning anchor for 'Good Day Colorado' on KDVR. During his time in Denver, Nick covered stories like the Aurora theater shooting, some the worst wildfires in Colorado history, and the devastating floods the affected much of the state.

Nick has also been an anchor at KION-TV in Monterey, CA; and a sports anchor at KRCR-TV in Redding, CA.

A native of El Segundo, CA, Nick is a 2008 graduate of California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo where he studied broadcast journalism and public relations.
